How many bigfoots are there?
As of right now nobody is one hundered percent posotive of the exact population of Bigfoot. Experts have made there best attempts my looking at sighting density maps around the United States and Canada. IT is extremely hard getting an exact number since there has never been a clear image of Bigfoot caught on camera or on video. Since there is no real evidence of Bigfoot exsisting they have to go off the eye witness reports of people. Since 1960 there has been about 3,500 reported sightings from citizens that experts say are credible reports. Theses reports are what are used to make the estimations for the Bigfoot population. After taking in all these reports the estimated population of Bigfoot is anywhere for two-thousand to six-thousand Bigfoots. So this means that there is indeed a breading population of Bigfoot. This exceeds the limit of a species to live on and be off the endangerd species list. Having a breeding population is needed for this creature in order to survive. It isn't out of the question to have more than just one of these creatures, one being male and one being female. It's very difficult for the scientific community to come to a conclusion about the existance of Bigfoot but then again there have been numeros animals that have been thought to be extinct and found in recent years by the scientific community. For example the Red-Bearded Titi. Found in Columbia in 2008 there remains less than two hundred and fifty of these primates left. They are on the endangerd species list but they are still surving. If Bigfoot had less than two hundred and fifty they could still have a sustainable population. They could reproduce without having any genetic problems.
Mothers and infants
In this picture it is kind of hard to see but a man set up a trail camera up by one of his apple trees by his house because all the apples started to dissapear. He ruled out a deer because they were taken from spots of the tree that deer couldn't reach. He got this picture of something unexplainable. The thing that really attract experts to this picture is that there appears to be something holding onto the creature. Experts believe that this is a mother Bigfoot holding her infant Bigfoot. There definatly is something there holding onto to this creatures. Experts from the BFRO have ruled out this being a bear. For Experts this gives them more evidence to prove that Bigfoot does indeed have a population.
Other species
Bigfoot is thought to be a decendent or different form of a creature know as Gigantopithecus. (pictured left) Gigantopithecus stood nearly ten feet tall and weighed up to 1,200 pounds makeing them the largest primate to ever have walked the earth. Gigantopithecus has been extinct for 100,000 years now and lived in China, India and Veitnam. This is a very possibly explanation of where bigfoot may have came from.
Another type of Bigfoot that is very well known is the Abominable Snowman or the Yeti. The Yeti is a creature similar to Bigfoot that inhabits the Himalayan region. There have been many reports of the creature but is just believed to be a legend or myth created by the local people.

Matt Moneymaker's veiw on bigfoot population.
Matt Moneymaker, the president and founder of the Bigfoot Field Research Organization, has his own view about the Bigfoot population. He claims that there are anywhere from two thousand to six thousand of these creatures. Matt says that they are indeed a breading population so there are male and female Bigfoot as well as adult, teen, adolesnet, and infants. People have asked Matt if there are ten thousand of these creatures how has nobody found a body or taken a clear image of Biggfoot. Matt's response to this is, as he says in an interview, that Bigfoot is widespread across all of North America. Ten thousand might seem like a big number but thats how many are in North America from Alaska to Maine. Canada is also included in this so Bigfoot has a lot of area to hide. This many Bigoots in North America isn't out of the question. There are plenty of areas for Bigfoot to remain hidden.
